Father Time needs to take a chill pill. Seriously? Two months have flown by and "little" Ellis is growing really fast! This month was a good one as once the smiles came, they didn't stop coming. He'd smile if you spoke to him and sometimes I held him while talking to someone else in the room, only to look back at Ellis to see him flashing a big gummy grin right up to momma. My heart melts when his eyes squint and he shows those gums. It is adorable I tell you.
The one for sure time he did NOT smile this month was during his first round of vaccines. I was personally very grateful that daddy was able to make the appointment b/c someone had to be strong in that room. I think the shots were just as traumatic to me as they were to Ellis because we both were crying. Ellis had good reason as the shots made both of his adorable thighs swell up and turn rock hard. He was also pretty fussy the rest of the day.
Ellis also showed us his first taste of independence. He moved to his own room this past month, began busting out of mommy's swaddles, and even had his first 'babysitting' experience as he spent some time away from his parents for an hour (thanks to Christi and Steve Rossi for watching both our boys while we had to take a baptism class at the Church).
Mr. Super Awesome Sleeper left our house this month as well. Right around 5 weeks Ellis started waking up 4-5 times a night. Sometimes he would just stay up for an hour plus after a feeding too. I really thought I was going to lose my mind - or maybe I actually did? Thank goodness that went down to 3 times a night at around 8 weeks...of course, that's right when Mr. Bells Palsy came to visit mommy as well. Any correlation there? I laugh in the face of the 3 different doctors who tell me to get more sleep. I believe this marks the 2nd time Ellis has given me Bells Palsy...I just hope he doesn't try to mimick my crooked smile like he does when I stick my tongue out at him!
We had some funny moments this month as Ellis lost his balance a few times...
Now on to the stats!
Weight: 13 pounds, 9 ounces (90 - 95th percentile)
Height: 25 inches (98th percentile)
Head: 41cm (80th percentile)
Happy 2 month birthday Ellis!!!
